With stress at least partially credited with dozens of illnesses, it is no surprise that the American Nurses Association has made this a point of focus with their Year of the Healthy Nurse campaign. Stress is one of the most difficult issues nurses face in the workplace and can be difficult to leave at work when you head home every day. Finding ways to relieve, if not avoid unnecessary stress is critical to maintaining optimal health and is the focus for our April health post.
To help get you started we are sharing five ways to put this into action for a healthier YOU!
One of the biggest obstacles to furthering your nursing career in America, is passing the NCLEX-RN exam, and it is CareerKnacks goal to always make sure that you feel prepared for every step of the process. Scrubs Magazine recently posted their suggested steps to NCLEX success and we wanted to pass those great tips on to you.
Have a Positive Attitude About the Outcome – Approach studying for your NCLEX exams with a positive attitude. This will help to keep you focused as you go over all of the material one last time. If you find yourself getting frustrated, walk away for a little while to refresh. You have the right to feel some stress, but make sure that it does not sabotage your results.
Eat and Sleep Right – Your physical state is just as important as your mental one when preparing for a life-changing test. In the weeks leading up to your exam date, maintain a healthy diet and sleep routine. This will actually work towards keeping your mind sharp and retaining information better, especially if you add bananas and some chocolate to your diet.
You may have noticed some news the past few weeks with regard to the Texas Board of Nursing endorsement license process. The notable changes include the following:
Up until June 16th, 2016 the Texas Board of Nursing has permitted nurses without an active license in another US state to endorse into their state. This was a great licensing solution for nurses who possessed a California NCLEX pass letter, but who could not obtain a physical license without a social security number. The Texas Board of Nursing will honor the applications they received before June 6th, 2016, but if your application for endorsement expires you will not be permitted to continue.
CareerKnacks is always seeking solutions to these problems, so if you are stuck in the process or need some advice please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you in any way that we can.
